How to write calmly when you are boiling inside

Separate the fact from the emotion

An angry message almost always mixes two things: a concrete problem (a missed deadline, an invoice error, a broken promise) and an emotional judgement about you as a person. A reply becomes calm the moment you respond only to the first part. Write down what actually happened in plain facts: the date, the amount, the agreement, the consequence. Everything else — the tone, the blame, sweeping phrases like "you always" — can be deliberately left unanswered. The neutralizer does exactly that: it keeps the substance and strips the emotional layer that fuels the conflict.

Hold the boundary without apologising for everything

A calm reply is not blanket agreement, and not an apology where you did nothing wrong. The most reliable structure has three parts: a short acknowledgement of the situation, a clear statement of what you can do, and one concrete next step with a date. For example: "I understand the delay caused problems. I can send a corrected invoice by Friday, and we return to the agreed payment schedule after that." It never reads as weak, and it gives no fresh material for another emotional round, because there is neither attack nor excuse in it.

Pick the tone for the situation, not for your mood

The same content can be delivered in three ways. The professional style fits clients, management and formal email: dry facts, process, dates. Friendly with boundaries works inside a team, with family and friends — warm wording, but a clear line about what you will and will not do. The minimal one- or two-sentence version saves you in chats, comments and public reviews, where a long answer only prolongs the argument. Generate all three and send the one you will not regret tomorrow.

FAQ

What is an emotional neutralizer?

It is an AI tool that turns emotional, angry or passive-aggressive messages into calm, professional or concise replies.

Is the service free?

Yes. You can make up to 3 rewrites per day without signing in. When those attempts run out, sign in with Google to continue for free.

How do I respond to a rude email professionally?

Address the practical issue rather than the insult. State what you can do and propose a concrete next step. The professional style can help draft a reply; check names, dates and commitments before sending.

Can I set boundaries without sounding aggressive?

Yes. Say clearly what you can and cannot do, without blaming the other person. Choose the friendly-with-boundaries style for a warmer reply, then review it to make sure it reflects your own limits.

Which languages are supported?

Ukrainian, English, German and French.

What happens to the text I enter?

We do not store the text in our database. When you press a button, the text is sent over an encrypted connection to an AI model (Google Gemini) that drafts the reply; once the reply is returned, the text is no longer used anywhere. You can make up to 3 rewrites a day without signing in — to count them we keep only an irreversible hash of your IP address, deleted after 2 days. After that you sign in with Google, and we keep only your email and account ID. Avoid pasting passwords, banking details or medical information.
